Make your lawn as safe as it is pretty

Do you know why lawn treatment companies put those cute little flags on yards they've treated? It's not just to advertise their business. It's to let people know they need to stay off the grass for awhile. Why? Because they've just soaked it full of chemicals to kill weeds and moss or make the grass greener. Crazy, isn't it?!

And the story inside most homes isn't much better. Studies by the Environmental Protection Agency show that air pollution inside the average home is two to five times higher than it is outdoors!* So where does that "pollution" come from? Part of it is the chemical off-gassing of our homes, carpeting and furniture (unless it's a green-built house with organic furnishings). But some of it comes from the products we use to keep our homes clean. Unseen chemical fumes are trapped inside our well-insulated dwellings, causing chronic illness over time.

It's no wonder that conditions like asthma, chronic fatigue and chemical sensitivity are striking more people -- and at younger ages. And think of the harm it can do to our dogs, who often spend much more time indoors than their human family members do.
