Having seen first hand the benefits of natural diets, alternative medicine and holistic products displayed in the health and happiness of our own dogs, we decided to create this informational website to share what we've learned.

NaturalDogDetective.com is the culmination of over a dozen years of research and personal experience raising and caring for dogs using natural methods and products. We give you a jump-start in caring for your dog naturally, because we've done a lot of the leg work for you!

Our ultimate goal is to provide the most comprehensive collection of information and resources possible for dog lovers wishing to offer their furry friends the healthiest life -- naturally.

Site owner and principal writer/editor Ellen Chappelle brings over 15 years of professional writing experience and an unabashed love of dogs to Natural Dog Detective. While raising her own dogs, she developed a special interest in holistic pet care. She and one of her goldens also volunteered with hospice patients and children's grief groups as a registered therapy team.

Ellen, who lives with her husband in the Seattle area, is the former Pacific Northwest Regional Editor of Dog Magazine. She is also a freelance writer and the former Seattle Dogs Examiner for Examiner.com.

This website is dedicated to the memory of our beloved golden retrievers Ruby and Kody, who lovingly helped us learn everything we know about raising happy, healthy dogs.
